Make sure you connect with users on their other social media networks. You can link your Twitter feed to your Facebook page, which will encourage users to follow you on Twitter. Make sure that you are posting different content to each site if they are linked. If you are posting identical content on both social media sites then there is no incentive for a user to follow you on both networks.

Another way to increase engagement and boost your rankings on Google is to run a competition on twitter. Social Media Today explains a retweet competition as, “an event in which people retweet a comment usually containing a link to your website in the hope of winning a prize you are offering.This can be an incredible way to build a high number of links and increase followers.”
