Black Tie Digital Marketing knows that Pinterest can be a tough nut to crack if you have decided to integrate it into your marketing strategy; however, the staff at Pinterest continues to work hard to make their site easier for businesses to use. Greg Sterling wrote on MarketingLand.com that, “Pinterest is introducing more information into selected categories of pins: movies, products and recipes. These new “rich pins” provide additional background and information, depending on the category.”
The goal of these “rich pins” is to include details such as prices, availability, movie reviews, and ingredients. When Pinterest was first introduced it was a cool way to explore ideas, products, and recipes but they have been moving into the direction of an e-commerce website so that businesses will use their site as a marketing tool. While it was once difficult to locate a product that was pinned on Pinterest, the website is now working on providing real time prices for products along with where you can purchase them so you no longer have to hunt for it on the Internet.
“Pinterest is launching this program with a wide range of partners, most of which are major publishers, retailers and brands. They include Anthropologie, eBay, Home Depot, Nordstrom, Sephora, Target, WalMart, Bon Appetit, Epicurious, Real Simple, Whole Foods Market, Netflix and Rotten Tomatoes,” Sterling shares.
